It's one thing to have it mess up my editing, but crashing in the middle of engraving is not cool. Unless the drivers load registry info? All I know is, the program will run in demo mode with no drivers loaded. However, the reason I'm concerned NOW is it just crashed in the middle of engraving! THAT's a new one, and can be particularly bad on someone's spendy suppressor, which is what I was engraving! Murphy did show a little sympathy by having it crash while I was test engraving instead of actual engraving.Īnyway, what to do? I can reload the drivers but most of the crashes occur when the drivers aren't in play. And it's been crashing during art/text editing.
Sucks if you don't have the job saved.Not exactly sure why it's crashing, it's not even an 'installed' program. Today about 5 times while changing hatch routines.
Other than that Windows 10 appears to run all my existing CNC software and drivers just fine, GWizard, CamBam, MeshCam, CutViewer, Mach3, ShuttlePro.dll etc.And getting worse lately. Something to watch out for if you go this route. This time when I reinstalled Mach3 and copied over the Mach1Lic.dat license file into C:/Mach3, it worked. So I did a complete Windows 10 reinstall (no big deal as I stuffed up a few other things - considered it a practice run), however this time I skipped the Microsoft sign-in and instead created a local user account with my full name (as it appeared in my Mach3 license), which created a matching folder name. This caused the Windows 10 install to abbreviate my email address as my Windows username (folder name). However during the Windows 10 setup, I used my Microsoft account as a login. I had installed Windows 10 on a new second hand PC (a Dell OptiPlex 755) I am using for my CNC controller using an ESS SmoothStepper board. I ran into one problem with my Mach3 license not working after doing a clean install of Windows 10, which I managed to fix.
